Sports is as significant as Education: Dr Sehrish

JAMMU, Dec 8: All India Taekwondo Union today organized Belt Grading Examination Championship at Sai Palace, Trikuta Nagar, here.
A total of 150 students from various schools of Jammu province participated in the test, out of which 120 were promoted to the next rank colour by Technical Director Anil Nanda and President All India Taekwondo Union Sanjeev Kumar and senior member Ronika Rathore.
The speakers, who were present on the occasion, exhorted upon the parents and civil society to inculcate the spirit of sports in their children for preparing them to lead a better social life. They said that such events boost the spirit of self-defence besides developing leadership qualities among the talented players.
Director Information and Public Relations, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, who was the chief guest on the occasion, emphasized the importance of sports in the lives of students for their overall personality development.
She said that sports activities must be seen as important as education for physical, emotional and mental growth of a student.
Director lauded the efforts of the parents for encouraging their children to take part in sports activities, which is a great way of disciplining the younger generation.
Students of DRS Kids Trikuta Nagar, Roots the Montessori House, Aptech Montana International Pre School, DRS Kids Talab Tillo, Cinosural International School, DRS Kids Vasant Vihar, Delhi Public School, DRS Kids Chowadhi, Army Public School were awarded different colour belts.
The Grading Examination consisted of four groups with Veera Kaur, Sahas Gandotra, Aarav Kumar Menia, Shivyansh Gupta, Kartikay Angurana, Yuvan Bhagotra, Safiya Shamim, Aaban Hussain Khan, Shakti Prasad, Suzen Nanda and Vijoy Nanda forming the first group.
The second group consisted of Ridhaan Bakshi, Samanyu Gupta, Ritwir Manyal, Dilvanshveer Singh, Gayatri Bhat, Abhinav Gupta, Vanshdeep Singh, Aanaya Gupta, Harjas Singh, Shrvya Chawla, Aadit Trehan, Musa Ganai, Amayveer Singh Randhawa, Sudiksha Gandral, Vidya Sagar Mehrotra, Aashman Vaid, Arunima Sharma, Mokshita Mehrotra, Harshit Motiyal, Krishav Sangral, Saatvik Sharma, Aadhya Abrol, Vishwas Sethi, Saras Abrol, Sarvagya Dewan and Sehajleen Kour.
The third group of participants included Gunraj Singh Dua, Anhad Mahajan, Saisha Malhotra, Ayaan Ahmad, Rudrakshi Sharma, Rishita Jassotia, Mansheen Kour, Tiya Singh, Adheera Sharma, Laaibah Tabassum, Kairav Singh Chawal, Shravan Manath, Ishanvi Pandey, Prathit Sharma, Aarav Malhotra, Ishanvi Sharma, Amish Dutt, Nitya Gupta, Saksham Choudhary, Dhwiti Abrol, Aaradhya Basur, Navya Gupta, Harveer Singh, Sarvagya Bakshi, Prisha Sangral, Rehaan Gupta, Aasvi Mahajan, Aadhvika Sharma, Khirad Sajjad, Vanshi Kumar, Aaradhya Sharma and Drishika Mahajan.
The fourth group of students included Sunakshi Sundan, Advika Jasrotia, Swadhenta Verma, Sidhansh Singh Balouria, Aryan Bhagat, Mahee Saini, Samriti Bakshi, Aditya Saini, Anaysha Gupta, Varchasva Sharma, Amyra Rajput, Ayaana Mahajan, Tanuj Gupta, Ananya Mishra, Jaijot Singh, Movisha Gupta, Suteekshan Singh Salaria, Suvan Sharma, Anaya Ahuja, Tanishka Bhagat, Aditya Singh, Sampurnna Biswal, Jatinder Sharma, Bhavandeep Singh, Kunwarjot Singh, Sharanjot Singh, Yuvansh Singh, Vardaan Singh Bajwa and Bhagyansh Bhardwaj.
Rajeev Mahajan President (SRS) and Pushvinder Singh Charak, Advisor Sports Taekwondo Association J&K & Kuldeep Singh were the Guests of Honour while Moksha Abrol Founder of Lioness Club and Royale Next Weddiags (Wedding Planner) was the Special Guest. Association Member Navneet Kour was also present on the occasion.
