JAMMU, Apr 18: Jammu District Kabaddi Association under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association will organize T20 Dr Hedgewar Junior Kabaddi Gold Cup at Kabaddi Field, MA Stadium, here.
This was informed by Anil Gupta (Anu), President of the Association while addressing media persons at Hotel Mahadev, Panama Chowk, here today.
He was accompanied by Anil Padha, BS Tirthi, Dinesh Gupta, Anil Modi, Karunesh Gupta and Kuldeep Gupta of J&K Kabaddi Association.
Mr Gupta said that a total of 100 teams in boys and girls sections will be participating in this Kabaddi extravaganza, which will begin on April 23, 2018 and will conclude on April 27, 2018.
He said the eligibility criteria for Junior boys is age below 19 years and weight below 60 kgs and for Junior girls, it is age 19 years and weight below 55 kgs.
“All the matches will be played in league cum knockout system. 16 pools will be formulated and 6 to 7 teams will be placed in a single pool. Toss for each knockout match will be done with a silver coin and the team which wins the toss will be awarded that coin,” Mr Gupta informed.
He further informed that the winners and runners-up teams from pre-quarterfinals stage will get on the spot cash prizers, adding that best player of the Gold Cup 2018 in boys and girls sections will get a gold chain.
He said that the matches will be officiated by a panel of experts including PEMs/PETs of Department of Youth Services and Sports, NIS Coaches and Senior Players of Jammu and Kashmir Police team.
