POONCH, Feb 12: Defeating their rivals convincingly today, Surankote Cricket Club and Amjad Cricket Club entered into the next round of the ongoing T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by J&K Police under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Degree College ground, here.
In the first match, Surankote Club trounced LoC Club by 6 wickets.
Batting first, LoC Club scored a paltry total of 94 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process, while Surankote Club chased the target in 16 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Asif Bhat of Surankote Club was declared as man of the match for his brilliant knock of 41 runs.
In another match, Amjad Club thrashed Shanker Nagar Cricket Club by a huge margin of 98 runs.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Amjad Club scored a mammoth total of 191 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 8 wickets in the process.
While chasing, Shanker Club was bundled out for 93 runs in 16 overs, thus lost the match by 98 runs. Sajid of Amjad Club was adjudged man of the match for his superb knock of 47 runs.
Akeel Ahmed, Tesildar Haveli Poonch was the chief guest in today’s proceedings.
