JAMMU, June 1: Sumit Grover won the Jammu Division Selection Chess Championship held at Nek Hotel, Below Gumat, Jammu. Manoj Kohli secured second place and Akashdeep Singh Bhatia finished third.
The tournament was played under the latest FIDE rules with one-hour time control. The top 10 players, including Aarav Gupta, Pazhany Kohli, Satish Singh, Sahil Mahajan, Nidhir Nagar, S.P. Sharma, Vaibhav Dwedi and Rajyawardhan Singh, will represent Jammu division in the upcoming JK UT Chess Championship.
SP Sharma, Chairman of the Jammu Division Selection Committee, conducted the matches and Stuti Gupta was the Chief Arbiter. Baldev Raj, President of AJKCA, was the chief guest, applauding the event’s smooth conduct and competitive spirit.
