Sultan Warrior lifts CPL trophy

SRINAGAR, Aug 30: The Chinar Premier League (CPL)-2025 concluded today at Gen Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla, with Sultan Warrior Summerbugh lifting the trophy.
Organizers said that this year’s edition witnessed participation from 64 teams-32 from Baramulla and 32 from outside the district-making it one of the most competitive and widely followed tournaments in Kashmir.
The grand finale saw a thrilling contest between MLA Gymkhana, Budgam, Sultan Warrior Summerbugh, Srinagar.
In an exciting finish, Sultan Warrior Summerbugh emerged victorious by seven wickets, lifting the coveted CPL 2025 trophy.
The event was attended by the GOC Dagger Division as the chief guest along with other dignitaries from Baramulla.
The winners were awarded Rs 2,00,000 and felicitated by the GOC.
Waseem Raza was declared Man of the Series for his exceptional performance throughout the tournament and was awarded a Pulsar 150CC. He was also named Man of the Match in the final and received Rs 25,000.
Other awardees included Tajamul Baba of MLA Gymkhan, for best batter, Rs 25,000, Assem Wasim of Sultan Warrior Summerbugh, for best bowler, Rs 25,000, Abid Pir of Sultan Warrior Summerbugh, for best fielder, Rs 25,000, and Mursieen of Sultan Warrior Summerbugh for being an emerging player, Rs 25,000.
The Chinar Premier League 2025 brought together cricketing talent from across the Kashmir Valley, promoting sportsmanship, camaraderie and youth engagement, while strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the local community.
The tournament also served as a platform for aspiring players to showcase their skills on a prominent stage.
