JAMMU, Sept 24: Eight students of KC Public School participated in four days long annual virtual Round Square International Conference (RSIC-2021), hosted by Round Square Head Office UK from September 20 to 23.
The students who participated in the international conference included Samya Vaid, Bhavyta Anand, Xena Bandhu, Mishika Mittal, Saumya Kapur, Vihaan Gupta, Asechan Chib and Ojas Kapur.
Arti Chowdhary, Managing Director of KCPS and Sonia Thakur, Round Square Representative also attended the conference as adult delegates. The theme of the conference was ‘Blue Skies and Brave Convers-ations’ wherein about 300 Round Square Schools from all over the world participated.
The virtual conference venue created in the form of a vast park in game format consisted of school-wise assembly tables, a convention hall, barazza discussion rooms, cinema hall, Yoga pagoda, picnic blankets, fire pits and a beach where all delegates assembled every day for briefings, keynote speeches, barazza break-up discussions, debates, Yoga sessions and screening of films and cultural programmes presented by participating schools.
A panel of eminent keynote speakers consisted of Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Dr Lee Howell, Ade Adepitan MBE, Sanam Naraghi Anderlini MBE, Alex Sheen, Sir David Hemp-leman-Adams OBE, Dr Vandana Shiva, Ofentse Lekwane, Buhle Dlamini, Ellen Windemuth, Dr Ronnie Gladden, Dr Anantha Duraiappah, Solli Raphael and Lesego Serolong.
All student delegates from KCPS shared their views in the barazza discussions with confidence and clarity.
