Students exhibit talent in ongoing ‘Sportech’ on Day-3

JAMMU, Oct 31: Students exhibited their talent on Day-3 in the ongoing 1st Inter Polytechnic Annual Sports Meet “Sportech” at Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk here.
On the occasion, Er Arun Bangotra, Principal Government Polytechnic (GP), Bikram Chowk along with Er Inderjeet Singh, Er KS Bhatia Sports Secretary, Guminderpreet Kour PEM and Toshi Devi PET interacted with the players of various participating teams.
In Tug-of War Tournament (boys) final, GP Jammu defeated GP Kishtwar by 2-0, whereas in girl category, GP Women emerged winner by defeated GP Jammu by 2-0.
The event was judged by Ravinder Singh, PEM, Hardev Singh, PEM and Amolak Singh, PET from Department of Youth Services and Sports.
In Cricket Tournament, the first seminal was played between GP Kishtwar and GP Ramban in which GP Ramban registered win by 21 runs. Karamveer Singh of GP Kishtwar was declared as Man of the Match for taking 3 wickets and smashing 22 runs. The second semifinal will be played between GP Jammu and GP Udhampur tomorrow.
In Table Tennis Tournament, Parav from ASC Polytechnic defeated Kameshwar from GP Jammu (7-11,0-11,5-11) in the first semis, whereas in the second semis, Piyush of GP Jammu defeated Abhay Singh. Parav will take in Piyush in the final.
In Carom Tournament, Round robin matches were played between Azhar Mehmood and Amanjot Singh from GP Jammu, Sahil Dubey and Sorav Sharma from GP Kathua, Devender Kumar and Munir Hussain from GP Reasi and Subodh Parasher and Sachin Sharma from GP Udhampur. After playing three matches by each team, GP Jammu was leading with 3 wins, GP Kathua with 2 wins and 1 loss, GP Reasi with 1 win and 2 loss and GP Udhampur with 0 win and 3 loss. The final will be played between the team of G P Jammu and G P Kathua. In girls’ category, Pupinder Kour and Neha Manhas from GP Jammu, Liza Talashi and Zara Talashi from Women Polytechnic Jammu won their round robin matches and will now face each other in final.
In Chess Tournament, the team of GP Jammu lea by Yahya Bashir emerged winner while the team of GP Samba stood runner up. Paras Sardhalia from GP Samba was adjudged as Player of Chess Tournament.
In Badminton Tournament, the final match was played between GP Jammu and GP Reasi. Aham of GP Jammu defeated Rohit of GP Reasi by 21-6 and 21-12 and in doubles Shubham and Udayvir of GP Jammu defeated Vaneet and Deepak of GP Reasi by 21-10 and 21-15.
