JAMMU, Mar 21: Strikers XI, Real Dabang, Dogra XI and Legal A Star registered emphatic victories over their rivals on day-2 of the Lawers Annual Sports Meet, being organized by J&K High Court Bar Association, here.
Vikram Randhawa, Member Legislative Council (MLC) was the special guest, who while gracing the occasion announced an amount of Rs 50,000 from his CDF as a token of encouragement for improving the sports facilities for the members of Bar.
Earlier, in the first match, Strikers Eleven defeated Legal Riders by 3 wickets.
Strikers Eleven captain Divya Ishan after winning the toss chose to field first.
Batting first, Legal Riders scored 103 runs in 10 overs. Javed and Sohail scored 32 runs each. Prithvi took 3 wickets, while Nitin and Vershwar Jamwal took 2 each and Avish claimed 1 wicket.
Chasing the target Striker Eleven scored 105 runs in just 7 overs without any loss, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Atul was the top scorer with 58 runs, while Amulaya contributed 33 runs.
In second match of the day, Real Dabang defeated Samba Warriors by 7 wickets in an easy contest.
Samba Warriors after winning the toss and batting first, scored 81 runs in 10 overs. Vijay Verma was the top scorer with 33 runs, while Vijay Gupta scored 19 runs. Amarjeet and Daljeet took 2 wickets each, while Rohit and Mohit claimed 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target, Real Dabang scored 84 runs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Amarjeet top scored with unbeaten 43 runs. Munish took 2 wickets and Nagainder claimed one.
In another match, Dogra XI outplayed Sachin XI by 3 wickets.
Winning the toss and batting first, Sachin XI scored 63 runs in 10 overs. Anil Verma scored 12 runs, while Naresh contributed 10 runs to the total. Nitin, Ajitpal and Rohit Bhagat took 2 wickets each, while Ravinder and Bharti claimed 1 wicket each. Dogra XI chased the target by losing 7 wickets to win the match by 3 wickets. Jeetu was the highest scorer with 33 runs. Vikas took 3 wickets, Anil bagged 2 wickets and Amit claimed 1 wicket.
In the fourth and last match of the day, Legal A Star defeated Royal XI by 36 runs. Legal A Star after winning the toss chose to bat first and scored 123 runs in 10 overs. AP Singh was the highest scorer with 39 runs, while Sheroz scored 27 runs and Pranav Kohli contributed 23. Rohit, Pankaj, Arvind and Shah shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Royal XI bundled out for 87 runs, thus Legal A Star won the match by 36 runs. Touqeer and Aditya Chopra scored 23 runs each.
The tournament is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association to help Lawyers fine-tune their supporting skills and enjoy leisure in a better way.
The objective of the tournament is to help the Lawyers, who otherwise have a busy schedule of activities to be free from stress and strain.
