JAMMU, Oct 2: Three days Handball Championship, organized by District Handball Association Jammu, concluded at Playfield Shastri Nagar, here today.
The final match in the women’s section was played between Jammu Club and RL Pissu Club in which R.L Pissu Club emerged winners by 8 goals to 3. Main scorer was Arushi Sharma.
In the men’s section, the final match was played between STC Jammu and Sandeep Pal Club in which the former emerged winners by 26-17 goals.
Vinay Khullar, SSP PTC Udhampur was the chief guest and Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, president Basketball Association guest of honour, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies as well as individual prizes.
Khullar said the UT is rich in sports talent and sportsmen from the J&K have proven their mettle at different national and international championships. He added that proper nurturing by JKHA will go a long way in promoting the talent at different levels.
Among others present were Nariender Mahajan, president J&K Handball Association, Pravel Kumar vice president, Sanjeev Jamwal joint secretary, Rajesh Chandan, Renu Rattan, Rajesh Kapoor and others.
