SRINAGAR, Mar 12: The Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Jawaid Ahmad Shah, along with the other officers of J&K State Sports Council visited Polo Ground Playfield West and Astro Turf Football Field, here today.
During his visit, he was informed by the officers that the fields are ready for hosting of I-League Football tournament scheduled to be held in the month of April 2016 and South Asian Rugby later.
Mr Shah advised all the officers to ensure the completion of all the ongoing renovation/ maintenance works in connection with the conduct of forthcoming mega even at Bakshi Stadium and Astro Turf Football field on priority basis.
He advised the Joint Secretary Kashmir, and other officers that required loose earth be provided to the polo ground play field immediately for leveling/filling of depressions.
In addition to that officers were also directed that the traffic police Department be approached for immediate removal of Seized vehicles from the Polo Ground Play field area so that the sports activities do not suffer.
