State Level Inter-District Wrestling competition gets underway

KATHUA, Nov 15: State Level Inter-District Wrestling competition of all age groups for boys, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of its Director General got underway here today.
The competition is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua, Sunil Kumar.
As many 62 wrestlers drawn from five districts of the State are participating in the two days competition.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Singh, Punjab Singh, Pankaj Spolia, Ashok Kumar, Mohan Lal Dub, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Gupta, Ram Lubaya and Parveen Singh.
In Under-14 boys 32 kg, Harshvardhan Singh Jammu won gold, while in 35 kg, Pawan Kumar of Udhampur bagged gold, Ranjit Singh of Reasi clinched silver; in 38 kg, Ranjit Singh of Udhampur claimed gold, while Mohd Shafir of Kathua won silver; in 41kg, Kuldeep Singh of Reasi bagged gold, while
Kuldeep Kumar of Kathua claimed silver; in 45 kg, Guljit Singh got gold; in 50 kg, Bhag Hussain of Kathua clinched gold and Kumar of Udhampur clinched silver; in 55 kg Vijender Sharma of Jammu won gold and in 60 kg, Akashit Chawla of Kathua claimed gold.
In Under-17 boys, the gold medal winners in different weight categories included Madhan Singh of Reasi, Liyaqat Ali of Kathua, Mohd Gulla of Kathua, Deepak Jasrotia of Reasi, Surjeet Singh of Reasi, Sadiq Hussain of Kathua, Babu Din of Kathua, Bagh Hussain of Kathua, Sunny Singh of Jammu, Jyotier Adhitya and Abhishek Chawla of Kathua, while in Under-19 boys, the gold medals went to Rehmal Ali of Kathua, Mohd Ali of Kathua, Bagh Hussain of Kathua, Chain Singh of Reasi, Subash Singh of Reasi, Kuldeep Singh of Jammu, Teg Ali of Kathua, Riaz Hussain of Samba and Surinder Singh of Jammu.
