JAMMU, Jan 1: The Jammu and Kashmir State Sub Junior Women Hockey team was flagged off in a simple function at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here today.
The team will represent the State in the 6th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Hockey Championship, being held in Assam from January 5 to January 13, 2016.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest on the flag off ceremony, while Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council was the guest of honour.
Sports kits were distributed among the players on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ranjeet Kalra, Member BCCI and Vice Chairman, J&K State Sports Council, Jammu, Kuldeep Handoo, Rashid Ahmed, Gurdeep Singh Bakshi, general secretary Hockey J&K, Charanjeet Singh, Inderpal Singh and TP Singh.
