JAMMU, May 28: St Alexandra football team held Christian Star to 1-1 draw, while Young Warriors held Jammu Jeans to 2-2 draw in the 1st Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Memorial Gold Cup Football League Tournament, which got underway at GGM Science College Football ground, here today.
This C Division League Tournament is being organized by District Football Association (DFA) Jammu, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA).
In the first match, St Alexandra and Christian Star match ended in a draw as both the teams scored one goal each in the stipulated time. Jehab and Ayush Khokhar were the goal scorers for the two teams in 25th and 36th minutes respectively.
In another match, Young Warrior held Jammu Jeans to 2-2 draw. From Young Warrior, the goals were scored by Tanshu in 1st and Eklavya in 23rd minutes, while from Jammu Jeans, Adnan and Palnysa netted the goals in 4th and 18th minutes respectively.
The matches were officiated by Rocky, Rahul, Sanju Jangral, Sethi, Moon Stephen and Honey, while the matches among others were witnessed by Raju, Charan Dass, Surjeet Singh, Kamljeet Singh, David, Yousuf Don and Feastus Sotra.
