JAMMU, Oct 10: Tejinder Singh, SSP Jammu inaugurated Cricket Series for the under-12 boys which is being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Vishal Cricket Club Jammu at Parade ground, here.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the main objective of the J&K Police is to engage the boys at the initial stage in sports activities and help them not to derail from the mainstream and stay away from drugs and other social evils.
The chief guest distributed two sets of colour uniforms among the participating players.
Earlier, in the first match, the Game Changer Juniors defeated GSI Tigers by 13 runs. Game Changer Juniors, while batting first scored 100 for the loss of 5 wickets in 16 overs. Shiva Thakur top scored with 52 runs, while Shouraya Manhas contributed 27 runs. Neel took 2 wickets.
In reply GSI Tigers scored 87 runs for the loss of 6 wickets thus lost the match by 13 runs. Gurtaj Singh (35) and Ashotosh (19) were the main scorers. Rudra Singh took 3 wickets and Nischay claimed 2 wickets. Shiva was declared man of the match.
