SSP inaugurates Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tourney

SAMBA, Oct 23: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Rajesh Sharma accompanied by Additional SP Samba Ajaz Ahmed Zargar and other Police Gazetted Officers inaugurated Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament (Under-19) at Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organised under Sports Festival-2021 by District Police Samba for both boys and girls and will be played on knockout basis.
About eight Cricket teams of boys and four teams of girls are taking part in the tournament.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba urged the participating teams to play their matches with high spirit of professionalism. “Such sports activities provide a better platform for the younger generation to explore their talents and channelize their energy in the right directions,” he added.
The girl’s inaugural match was played between Samba XI and Gurah Salathia in which the former won the match whereas boy’s match was played between Samba Warrior and Goran Baba in which the team of Samba Warrior emerged winners.
Besides this tournament, Volleyball, Football and Kabaddi tournaments will also be played during the ongoing festivals.
