SAMBA, Oct 23: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Sharma accompanied by Additional SP Samba Ajeaj Zargar in presence of family members of police martyrs inaugurated “District Premier League Cricket Tournament” at Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium, here under Sports Festival.
The Sports Festival is being organized by District Police Samba in the loving memory of J&K Police Martyrs who laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of Nation.
In the tournament, 9 teams across the district Samba are going to participate.
The tournament will be played on knock out basis and the best two teams and players from the tournament will be selected for further Range Level competition.
On this occasion, all territorial officers of District Police, officers from civil administration, prominent citizens, youth and family members of martyrs were present.
Besides this tournament, Run for Unity and a Volleyball Tournament will also be part of this sports Festival. Moreover, a debate competition and cultural event are also part of this week long programme.
