SSCC registers 7 runs win over City Riders Akhnoor, sails to next stage

JAMMU, June 16: SSCC registered 7 runs win over City Riders Akhnoor in the keenly contested match and sailed into the next stage of the ongoing Summer Cup Akhnoor Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Akhnoor today.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, SSCC set a target of 159 runs for 9 wickets. Rahul played a splendid inning of 67 runs in 31 balls, whereas Anil made 21 and Gopal contributed with 13 runs.
From City Riders Akhnoor side, Sunil and Mukesh were the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets each, whereas Izaj and Sunny shared 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, the players of City Riders Akhnoor played well and tried their level best to win the match but failed and lost the match by just 7 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Rohan scored 52 runs in 48 balls, whereas Sunny and Akarsh made 20 and 10 runs respectively.
For SSCC side, Binny was the wrecker-in-chief with 4 wickets, whileas Happy, Lablu and Rahul claimed 1 wicket each.
For his match winning innings, Rahul was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Rajinder Sharma as umpires while Jimmy Magotra acted as scorer.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor will take on KCC at same venue.
This tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, President, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
