SRINAGAR, Oct 22: The 2-day long Srinagar District Judo Championship, organized by Judo Association of Jammu and Kashmir under the auspices of J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association, concluded at Indoor Sports Hall, Polo Ground, here today.
About 100 Judokas both boys and girls from all over the district participated in the championship, wherein Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Ara was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, while Mohd Iqbal, Manager Indoor Sports Hall Polo Ground was the guest of honour who distributed medals and certificates among position holders.
Among others present were Saahil Yousuf Sofi, Chief Editor Daily Srinagar Times; Mohd Galib, president Srinagar Ju-Jitsu Association; Shafkat Shafi, chairman Technical Committee, J&K Judo Association; Abdul Hamid Khan, vice-president J&K Judo Association; Gowhar Khan, joint secretary J&K Judo Association; Rahil Shafi and many others.
Eyad Bin Shafkat, Yamin, Hanan, Sibtain, Adeeb, Rayaan Yousaf, Adnan Fayaz, Mohd Numaan, Haadi, Zaid Showkat, Mursaleen, Hijran, Suhail, Tajamul and Mehsheed clinched gold medals, whereas silver medals were secured by Arsh Dar, Tahman, Syed Hamas, Burhan, Syed Asim, Mubarik, Irfan Alam, Tamheed, Luqman and Muhaib and bronze medals were won by Mohd Imaad, Junaid Rafiq, Mohd Sahil and Rayees.
In girls, Adn Arshid, Hadaya Shahid, Eliza Hamid, Barerah Rafiq, Atufa Irfan, Tazeem Fayaz and Misbah Noor won gold medals, while silver medals were secured by Irtiba Javaid, Bareen and Tamleek and Sadaf and Mahira Rashid clinched bronze medals.
