New Delhi, June 3:
Tainted pacer S Sreesanth, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, is reportedly ‘unhappy’ with the kind of food and drinking water served inside the prison.
Jail authorities said the pacer is not eating the food served in the prison and is also refusing water given to him.
The seamer along with two of his Rajasthan Royals teammates – Ankket Chavan and Ajit Chandila, was arrested on May 16, on charges of spot-fixing in the just-concluded Indian Premier League and since then Sreesanth is having a tough time in jail.
The tainted trio was earlier lodged in the Delhi Police Special Cell office in Lodhi Colony where Sreesanth got weeping fits and a doctor from AIIMS was summoned.
Jail authorities feel that the pacer, who is not used to such lifestyle fears for his life in jail and bears a depressed look on his face.
The pacer was served chapattis, rice and dal in the Lodhi Colony prison which he sporadically refused. However, he said no to food served in Tihar Jail almost every day.
“He is used to a sumptuous lifestyle which he badly misses here. He takes bath twice a day to beat the scorching Delhi heat,” a jail official said.
It was learnt Sreesanth wanted food from the jail canteen and asked officials to give him packaged drinking water only.
“He spends the entire day by watching news and keeps flipping through channels for IPL updates,” said another jail official.
The player is kept in Jail number 1 in Tihar and he has been given special permission to carry a bed sheet. (UNI)
