AKHNOOR, July: A superb 5-wicket haul by leg-spinner Amit Sharma helped Sree Cricket Club Jammu to outplay Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) by 20 runs and enter the semifinals of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School grounds, here.
Batting first, Sree Club scored a modest total of 124 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Rinku was the top scorer with 35 runs, studded with 4 fours and one six, while Amit and Sahil contributed 16 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For Trikuta Club, Mukesh and Vicky claimed 3 wickets each, while Ravi and Arun picked one wicket apiece.
Trikuta Club, in reply bundled out for 104 runs in 17.3 overs and lost the match by 20 runs. Arun Sharma and Sunny were the major contributors with 32 and 30 runs to the total respectively. Amit Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief for Sree Club, who scalped 5 important wickets by conceding 13 runs in his 4 overs, Channi took 2 wickets. Rinku and Sunny claimed one wicket each. Amit Sharma was adjudged man of the match for excellent bowling display.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali, Jimmy Mangotra and Srikant, while the tournament is being held under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, organizing secretary.
