BANHAL, Apr 30: Defeating Devinder Singh from Jammu in the main bout, Akram from the same place clinched the Annual Ukhral Maha Dangal-2013 held at Ukhral in Banihal today.
The Minister of State for Technical Education, Vikar Rasool was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who presented a cash award of Rs7000 and Patta to the winner on the occasion, while as runner-up wrestler was given Rs 4000 cash prize by the Minister.
As many as 50 bouts were held during the event with the participation of more than hundred wrestlers from within and outside the State.
The wrestlers who exhibited excellent wrestling art included Murad Ali, Happy Singh, Parveen, Tariq, Sadiq, and Rashid.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikar Rasool lauded the efforts of Chairman, Ukhral Dangal Committee ,in organizing the event at Ukhral every year. He said that such events help to promote healthy culture, , besides communal harmony, brotherhood and national integration by bringing people together.
Chairman of Dangal Committee, Neranjan Singh presented vote of thanks.
Earlier Veteran wrestlers were also facilitated by the organizers.
The event was organized by Ukhral Dangal Committee under the supervision of its president Neranjan Singh.
