REASI, May 16: District Level Inter-School Tournament for Under-14 and 17 boys and girls in the disciplines of speedball concluded at Government Girls High School, here today.
Dr SS Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal Government Girls High School Reasi, P D Sharma was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chib appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for smooth and successful conduct of the Tournament and advised the participants to play with sporting spirit.
72 boys and girls drawn from different schools of District took part in the Tournament.
Results: Under-17 boys singles, Sunil Kumar (GBS Pouni); boys doubles, Bhaarat Bhagat (TSNMHS); boys doubles, Varun Sharma (TSNMHS); Solo, Abhishek Sharma (TSNMHS); mix doubles, Balbinder Singh (GHS Pouni).
Under-17 girls solo, Samriti Thakur (TSNMHS); girls doubles, Yasmine (TSNMHS); girls doubles, Yashasvi Sharma (TSNMHS); singles, Renu Devi ( GHS Reasi) and mix doubles, Shabana Akhtar ( GHS Reasi).
Under-14 boys solo, Balbir Singh (GMS Agarballian); boys doubles, Mannat Sharma (TSNMHS); boys doubles, Amit Sharma (TSNMHS); singles, Sahil Kumar (Kambal Danga). Undeer-14 girls solo, Arti Bhagat (GHS Reasi); girls doubles, Neena Kumari (GHS Reasi); girls doubles, Vishali (GHS Reasi) and singles, Meenakshi (GMS).
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Ved Parkash Deputy, Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and under the Chairmanship of Dr S S Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi.
All the matches were officiated by Sunny Nanda, general secretary Speedball Association J&K, Manika Sharma (coach), Ankit Sharma, Aryan Kangotra, Gurmanjeet Singh, Akesh, Hartej Singh and office bearers were also present.
