KATHUA, June 4: Speedball Championship was held at Minerva Public School, Kathua, which concluded, here today.
About 200 students participated in the Championship to vie for the top honours.
Narendra Singh Sambyal, DEPO was the chief guest on the occasion, while Vijay Choudhary, of Aam Majdoor Vikas Kisan Party was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Mahipaul Sharma, Director MPS and G S Katal, president.
The events held during the Championship included singles, solo, solo relay, school team, mix doubles, men’s doubles and girls doubles.
The gold medal winners included Gurmehar (Jammu), Aryan (Samba), Himanshu (Samba), Adeev (Samba), Pratham (Samba), Komal (DPS), Bharat (SMS), Hari Om (SMS), Gurmehar (Jammu), Gurmanjeet (Jammu), Bhawana (DPS), Shubham Choudhary (SMS), Shubham Khajuria (SMS), Prachi (SMS), Nandini (DPS), Pranay (Jammu), Jhanvi (Jammu), Aryan (Jammu), Heena (SMS), Sonia (SMS), Amandeep (SMS) and Shivani (SMS), while the silver medalist included Aditiya (Jammu), Taniya (SMS), Shubham (SMS), Atul (SMS), Rohit Sharma (SMS), Hari Om (SMS), Aastha (DPS), Diksha (DPS), Kashish (DPS), Preeti (DPS), Dikshit (DPS), Ram Dayal (DPS), Rohit (SMS), Atul (SMS), Bhumika (DPS), Aman (Jammu), Aditya (Jammu), Vishav (Samba), Neha (Samba), Ranjit (Kathua), Komal (DPS), Manvi (DPS), Sumit (SMS) and Tanu Priya (Jammu).
The bronze medals went to Himanshu (Samba), Palvi Sharma (SMS), Munish Verma (Rose Public), Gourav Sharma (Rose Public), Sunny Sharma (Rose Public), Navjot Kour (Rose Public), Aryan (Jammu), Sabia (Jammu ), Ritik (Jammu), Rahul (Jammu), Sejal (DPS), Roshan (Rose Public), Bablu (Rose Public), Manthan (Jammu), Mansi (Jammu ), Aryan (Jammu), Divya Akash Singh (DPS), Diksha (DPS), Manish (Samba), Manshu (Samba), Mradhima (Jammu), Parvinder (Jammu), Harish Gupta (Jammu), Shebaz (Jammu) and Preeti (SMS).
The matches were officiated by Rajat Sharma, Rakesh Manhas, Shubham Singh, Sahil Janjua, Ankit Sharma and Arti Dogra.
The vote of thanks was presented by Sunny Nanda, general secretary J&K Speedball Association.
