JAMMU, Jan 11: Solitary goal victory over the formidable side of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) football team in the semifinal clash, took the strong team of J&K Forest XI to the finals of the 8th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organized by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
Earlier, both the teams played superbly and the players displayed excellent soccer skills to end the first half goalless. However, Waseem Yousuf of J&K Forest pelted a splendid goal in 56th minute of the game to help his team register a win by a solitary goal. Despite good moves made by the players of JKP XI, they failed to score any goal as they failed to negotiate the tactics and ploy of the rivals.
The match was officiated by Moon Stephen, Hilal Ahmed Punjabi, Rinku Gill and Harmanjeet Singh.
In the next semifinal match, J&K Bank will lock horns with JKPDC.
