JAMMU, Jan 11: Provincial president National Conference, Devender Singh Rana on Saturday lauded the voluntary and philanthropic efforts being supplemented by private sector in mitigating the sufferings of people and helping the in the hour of need.
Inaugurating Blood Camp sponsored by the New Era Environmental High School here this morning, Mr Rana lauded the effort, saying this will not only help in saving precious lives but also strengthen the bonds between the people thus making this world a better place to live in.
The Camp was organized in commemoration of the death anniversary of Prof D K Jain, former Controller of Examination, University of Jammu.
“Blood donation is a most valuable contribution by fellow beings that demonstrates the spirit of sacrifice and love for humanity”, he said and hoped that this unique spirit will form the guiding philosophy for the people to live in harmony. This is imperative in the present day world ridden by greed, hatred and intolerance, he observed.
Mr Rana also complimented the donors and said this will inspire others to come forward for the service of humanity.
The Provincial President seized the opportunity to urge the students for taking active role in sports and extra-curricular activities, along side academics, and said this is necessary for overall personality development.
Making a passionate appeal to the teaching community for inculcating moral values among their taught, the Provincial President had a word of advice for the students as well.
The management also paid tributes to Dr Jain.
On the occasion, young boys and girls showed keen interest in donating blood.
Those present on the occasion included Prabha Jain, Sudesh Jain, Bansi Lal Jain, Dr Vijay Sawhney and I D Soni.
The Provincial President also interacted with the doctors, paramedics, students and staff of the school and hailed them for their great effort.
