POONCH, Sept 11: The Social Welfare Department Poonch organised a vibrant awareness programme under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” campaign, featuring an exhibition volleyball match and a skit performance aimed at spreading awareness against drug abuse.
The event was graced by MLA Haveli, Ajaz Ahmed Jan as the chief guest and Addl SP Mohan Sharma as the guest of honour. A thrilling volleyball match between Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club and Poonch Volleyball Club captivated the audience, while a powerful skit, supervised by Pardeep Khanna, effectively conveyed the dangers of drug addiction.
District Social Welfare Officer Khalil A. Banday highlighted the department’s objective to generate awareness, especially among youth, to safeguard society from the threat of drugs.
MLA Ajaz Ahmed Jan commended the efforts of DSWO Khalil A. Banday, Tariq Khan (Chairman, Shaheed Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club) and anchor Pardeep Khanna for their roles in the event. The event witnessed active participation from civil society members, Bar association, athletes and youth from across Poonch.
