Sny Mahi guides SCC Akhnoor to lift 34 Vishav Bandhu Cricket Tourney title

JAMMU, June 13: Four wickets haul by Sny Mahi guided Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor to register win over Vijayanta Cricket Club (VCC) Akhnoor in the summit clash and to lift the title trophy of the 34 Vishav Bandhu Cricket Tournament, played at Government Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor.
Batting first after winning the toss, SCC Akhnoor set a target of 161 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Rahul Mani was the top scorer with 34 runs, while Chandan Sharma made 27 runs and Sonu chipped in 25 runs.
For VCC Akhnoor side, Amit scalped 3 wickets, while Jagdish and Pankaj took one wicket each.
In the second inning, VCC Akhnoor players tried their level best to win the match, but failed and bundled out at 152 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Govil made 45 runs, while Amit scored 26 runs.
For SCC Akhnoor side, Sny Mahi exhibited brilliant bowling performance and took 4 wickets, while Rajinder Sharma scalped 3 wickets (hat-trick) and Sham Singh Langeh pocketed 2 wickets.
Sny Mahi of SCC Akhnoor was adjudged as Man of the Match, while Man of the Series title was clinched by Govil.
The final match was officiated by Ashu Magotra and Madan Lal as umpires, while Kannu maintained the scorecard.
On the valedictory function, SDM Akhnoor Sunaina Sharma was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Vidya Sagar, Amarjeet Singh, Deepak Mani, Joginder Magotra and Sham Singh Langeh, Chairman, Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee.
