SMVDSB Field XI drubs Central Office XI by 66 runs

KATRA, Jan 11: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Field XI (Blue) defeated SMVDSB Central Office XI (Red) by a big margin of 66 runs in the first match of the Goodwill Cricket Series, being organized by the Sports Wing of SMVDSB at Playing Field of Sports Complex, here.
Earlier, Batting first, Field XI scored a modest total of 124 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Neeraj Katoch, Parshotam and Mangal contributed 20, 33 and 33 runs respectively. For Central Office XI, Sumit Gandotra took 3 wickets, while Rajeev Sukral and Vishal bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, Central Office XI bundled out for a paltry total of 58 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 66 runs. Sumit Gandotra top scored with 18 runs, while Dr MK Kumar and Ajit Kumar Sahu contributed 10 runs each. For Field XI Blue, Shakti took 3 wickets, while Bali and Chandan claimed 2 wickets each.
The next match of the Series will be played between Central Office XI (Blue) and Field XI (Red) on January 17, 2016.
