SKUAST Jammu thrashes PAU to enter semis

LUDHIANA, Nov 16: SKUAST-Jammu defeated tournament favourites PAU by 7 wickets to enter into the semifinals of the ongoing All India Vice-Chancellors T20 Cricket Tournament  at Ludhiana today.
Batting first after winning the toss, PAU scored 139 runs in 19.2 overs. For SKUAST-Jammu Manjeet Singh bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets by conceding just 13 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Anoop Kumar and Shamsd claimed 2 wickets each.
Chasing 140 runs for victory, SKUAST-Jammu lost first 2 quick wickets for 14 runs only. However, a splendid partnership of 106 runs between Bikram Ram andVinod brought SKUAST-Jammu back into contention. Bikram Ram scored magnificent 67 runs, while Vinod contributed valuable 25 runs to the total.
Manjeet played a cameo of 15 runs and Naresh chipped in with useful unbeaten 13 runs. The team needed 22 off last 2 overs and 14 off last over which they achieved with a ball to spare. Manjeet Singh finished the match with a towering six. He was declared as man of the match.
SKUAST-Jammu will face Himachal Pradesh University Shimla in the semifinals tomorrow.
In the 2nd semifinal, Punjabi University Patiala will meet MDS Ajmer Rajasthan.
