JAMMU, Dec 24: Singh Cricket Club (Singh CC) Akhnoor Under-19 team defeated Akhnoor Royals by 49 runs and maintained the lead in ongoing Under-19 T20 series by 2-0, being played at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
Singh CC won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, Singh CC scored 174 by losing 6 wickets in the process in the stipulated 20 overs after winning the toss. Abhinandan Sharma made 62 runs, while Binay Singh scored 24 and Neeraj and Nikhil Jamwal contributed 23 and 17 to the total respectively. From the bowling side, Mohit got 3 wickets, whereas Mannu, Golu and Danish shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Akhnoor Royals managed to score 126 by also 6 wickets in the stipulated overs wherein Amar made highest 56 runs, while Abhi scored 13 runs. From the bowling side, Raghav got 2 wickets, while Abhinandan, Nikhil, Dev and Neeraj shared 1 wicket apiece.
Abhinandan Sharma was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance. The match was officiated by Sushil Gupta and Abhitash Sharma as umpires, while Deepak Mangotra was the scorer.
The three match under-19 series is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor).
