JAMMU, Nov 11: Simula XI drubbed Young Star XI by 5 wickets and sailed into the semifinal round of the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with Simula Software at MA Stadium, here today.
Winning the toss and batting first, YSC XI scored 124 runs in 19.3 overs for all out. Rohit was the top scorer with 33 runs in 24 balls with 3 fours towards the fence, while, Rithik and Nipun also contributed 25 and 19 runs for YSC XI.
For Simula XI, Shashi , Sameer and Hilal Rather scalped 3, 2,1 wickets respectively.
In reply, Simula XI chased the target in 19 overs for the loss of 5 wickets and won the match by 5 wickets. Shashi was the top scorer with 28 runs including 4 fours, while, Ashok and Sameer also contributed 26 and 18 runs to the total.
For YSC XI, Akash and Sahil claimed two wickets each, while, Raman took 1 wicket.
Shashi of Simula XI was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant performance.
In second match of the day, ACC XI registered nine wickets victory over Doordarshan XI.
Winning the toss and batting first, DD XI scored 132 runs in the allotted 16 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sanju was the top scorer with 66 runs with 9 boundaries and one six, while, Akash also made 23 runs with 2 fours.
For ACC XI side, Ajay and Sanju scalped 2 wickets each.
In second inning, Aircel XI chased the target in 12 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Balbir was the top scorer with 64 runs with 11 fours and one six, while, Anand Tripathi and Bablu also contributed 40 and 14 runs to the total.
For DD XI, Rajesh took only wicket.
Balbir of ACC XI was declared man of the match for great his performance.
In the third match of the day, Ishar XI outplayed HPCC XI by a huge margin of 58 runs.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Ishar XI scored 136 runs for the loss of just one wicket in allotted 10 overs. Opener Paras and Shubam played well, thrashed some crispy shots and made 60 and 58 runs respectively.
For HPCC XI side, Tajumbal was the lone player, who scalped one wicket.
In reply, HPCC XI failed to chase the target and bundled out at 78 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 10 overs. Yasir and Shafkat Baba scored 26 and 11 runs.
For Ishar XI, Vishwajeet was the wrecker-in-chief who scalped 3 wickets, while, Pavit and Paras claimed 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Paras was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Suhail, Sudhir Singh, Madan and Sadiq Hussain as umpires, while, Yogesh maintained the scorecard.
In tomorrow fixture, Atman Sports XI will take on RCC XI at 8.30 am.
