JAMMU, Oct 11: Gobind Cricket Club (GCC) scripted win over Digiana Cricket Club (DCC) by a huge margin of 116 runs and registered berth in the next stage of the ongoing Sikh Premier League, being organized by Khalsa Club at Baba Jhulla Camp, Gole Gujral, Talab Tillo, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, GCC set a target of 178 runs by losing 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Manmeet Singh was the highest scorer with 28 runs, while Gurpreet Singh chipped in 26 runs and Tanveer Singh scored 22 runs.
From DCC side, Taranveer Singh and Gurvinder Singh scalped one wicket apiece.
In the second inning, DCC failed to chase the target and collapsed at paltry 62 runs by losing all wickets in 15.2 overs. Jagdeep and Ramandeep Singh scored 11 and 9 runs respectively.
From GCC side, Kulwant and Gagan scalped 2 wickets each.
Gurpreet Singh of GCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Harinder Singh and Kawalpreet Singh as umpires, while Bhagwant Singh acted as scorer.
On the occasion, Vikramjeet Singh was the chief guest, who awarded the winner team and asked the youth to participate in sports as its play pivotal role for the overall development of the body.
