JAMMU, Sept 11: Shiva Cricket Club and General Baj Singh Cricket Club (GBSCC) registered resounding victories against their rivals and entered into the next stage of the ongoing State Cricket Academy (SCA) T20 Championship, being played at MA Stadium, here.
An initiative of State Cricket Academy, the Cricket League in which 24 teams from Jammu are participating is being organized by J&K State Sports Council.
In today’s matches, SSP Ramesh Kotwal was the chief guest and Ashwani Gupta, former Ranji/Duleep Trophy Player was the guest of honour.
Earlier, in the first match, Shiva Club defeated Friends Jourian by 8 runs. Batting first, Shiva Club scored 111 runs in 18 overs, with Amit (38) being the main scorer.
From Friends Jourian, Sagar took 3 wickets, while Chetan and Rakesh bagged 2 wickets each. Randeep took 1 wicket.
Friends Jourian Club, in reply, made 103 runs in 17 overs, thus lost the match by 8 runs. Randeep, Vishal and Tushar contributed 22, 18 and 16 runs respectively. Sahil took 4 wickets, Vinod and Amit bagged 2 wickets each, while Atul and Dhenesh claimed 1 wicket each. Amit was adjudged as the man of the match, who received a cash prize of Rs 500.
In second match, General Baj Singh defeated Youngsters Nagrota by 4wickets.
Batting first, Gen Baj Singh CC scored 151 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Suresh (54), Muzamil (40) and Shanawaz (26) were the main scorers.
From Nagrota Club, MP Singh, Kamal, Satyam and Rajinder Singh claimed 1 wicket each.
Youngsters Nagrota Club bundled out for 111 runs, thus lost the match by 40 runs. Naresh (38) , Rahul (26) and Rajinder (14) were the main contributors.
Arman and Suresh took 3 wickets, while Rishab took 2 wickets and Rakesh claimed 1 wicket. Suresh was declared as the man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs 500.
