Shito Ryu Karate School excels in 37th C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 31: Shito Ryu Karate School of Jammu and Kashmir excelled in recently concluded 37th All India Karate Championship-2021 by winning various medals and stood at 2nd in overall championship, organised at Faridabad, Haryana.
Tanmay Gupta won Silver and Gold medals in Open Challenge Cup and Senior Kumite Karate Championship, whereas Shivaay Hangloo won Gold in 16 to17 years in Kumite and Laksh Bhat shined in 14 to 15 yrs Cadet category by winning Gold, besides Reshab Makroo clinched Gold medal, while Gurpreet Singh won Gold and Bronze medals in Kata and Kumite championship and Atul Narayan Singh bagged Gold medal in Kumite.
Moreover, Parth Channa won Silver and Bronze medals in Kumitee and Kata category, while Dhruv Singh secured Silver and Bronze medals in Kata and Kumite category respectively and Sumit Verma shined in Kumite by clinching Bronze medal.
Players from 15 States/UTs participated in the championship which was organized by Shito Ryu Karate School of India, affiliated with NKF Karate Do Federation of India.
The J&K team was accompanied by Sensei Amit Singh black belt 4th Dan WKF and chief coach and sensei Vikas Dhar black belt 3rd Dan.
