JAMMU, Oct 13: Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated the artistic success of its students at the Inter-School Painting Competition organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Private Schools Association (JKPSA) in collaboration with Kala Kendra, Jammu.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 370 students representing 45 prominent schools. It was conducted under two themes — Women Empowerment (Group A: Classes 9–10) and Save Environment (Group B: Classes 6–8).
Ojasvi of Class 9 clinched the 1st Prize and Harshdeep of Class 8 secured the 2nd Prize in the Women Empowerment category, earning accolades for the school. The event was graced by Gurdev Saraji (Joint Director) as chief guest and Ajeet Sharma (Chief Education Officer, Jammu) as guest of honour. The jury panel included renowned artists Ajay Kumar Sood, Gayatri Kotwal and Priya Gupta (Best Artist, IIM).
Distinguished attendees included Dr. Javid Rahi, Dr. Kasturi Lal Gupta and G.N. Tantray. The event was coordinated by Lal Chand Gandotra, with support from Usha Jamwal, Neeru Puri, Vasundhra, Bindiya Samyal, Karuneshwar and Deepali Handa.
