Shiksha Niketan pays tribute to founder on 115th Birth Anniversary

JAMMU, May 13: Shikha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, celebrated the 115th Birth Anniversary of its Founder Principal, Dev Dutt Mengi, with great devotion and enthusiasm today. A retired District Education Officer, late Mengi is remembered for his visionary leadership, humanitarian values and lifelong dedication to education.
The celebrations began with a sacred Ramayana Paath, followed by a pious Havan ceremony. Teachers and staff from sister institutions including Shiksha Niketan Gandhi Nagar, Pushp Vatika and R M Public School participated in the programme. Principal Rameshwar Mengi, Rita Mengi, Rakshan Mengi, Kashish Mengi and Risheek Mengi were present on the occasion.
Chief guests included SK Jain, Alok Pandalia, Jatinder Udhampuria, Swami Hariday Giri Nand and Subash Shastri. Special guests included Kuldeep Rattan Mengi and Someshwar Mengi.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Rameshwar Mengi paid rich tribute to the founder and highlighted the institution’s outstanding JKUT Board results. Students presented colourful cultural performances and dignitaries were felicitated with gifts and saplings. The programme concluded with a community langar.
