JAMMU, Dec 26: Sheetal Devi scalped a fifer while Sania Slathia, Mania Banotra and Shambhavi Rajput cracked magnificent half-centuries as Jammu and Kashmir crushed Arunachal Pradesh by a huge margin of 233 runs in the Women’s U-15 OD Tournament at Saurashtra Cricket Association Ground-B, Rajkot, today.
Earlier, batting first, J&K scored a good total of 270 runs in the stipulated 35 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Sania Slathia and Shambhavi Devi scored 64 runs each with 12 and 11 boundaries respectively, while Manya Banotra scored 62 runs with 11 boundaries. All the three batters were in sublime touch and showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up brilliant fifties.
For Arunachal Pradesh, Salu Kumari, Nabam Adam and Nabam Swyu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Arunachal Pradesh bundled out for paltry 47 runs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 233 runs. Salu Kumari and Kanika were the only two batters to cross double figure mark, scoring 12 runs each.
For J&K, left-arm medium pacer Sheetal Devi was the wrecker-in-chief who took 5 wickets by conceding 11 runs in her 5 overs, while Manya Banotra took 2 wickets.
