Shahzad, Sanyam shine at DIPR’s painting competition

JAMMU, July 14: Mohammad Shahzad Abdullah from Army Public School, Ratnuchak and Sanyam Arora from KC International School have bagged first positions in senior and junior categories respectively at the painting contest which was organized by Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Jammu and Kashmir on the topic “Forests for Life” at the culmination of ‘Van Mahotsav-2017’ at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
The competition which was organized for young artists saw participation from more than 250 budding painters across the province in two categories – 5 to 10 and 11 to 16 years of age respectively.
Among the immense talent displayed at the event in the senior category Aryaveer Singh, Krishtu Jyoti Convent School has been awarded second position. Third position has been shared by Sandarbh Surbhi, APS BD Bari and Jaideep Singh, Doon International School. Consolation prize has been awarded to Asha Jyoti from JK Montessori British School.
In the junior category Gunleen Kour from Carmel Covent School and Vrindalika Sharma from DPS have been adjudged to be at second and third positions respectively. Consolation prizes have been awarded to Raghav Meenia, Air Force School, Pratham, Humming Buds School and Divyanshi Sharma, G D Goenka School.
Rajdeep Kohli from Vidya Bharti School has been awarded a special encouragement prize in the painting competition.
The Department of Information and Public Relations extends congratulations to all the winners. The department shall shortly organize and notify the ‘award ceremony’ for facilitation of the winners.
