RAMBAN, Sept 28: Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh Volleyball tournament, organised by Indian Army to commemorate his sacrifice, concluded at Banihal Helipad Ground, here today.
The tournament was kick started on martyrdom day of Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh on September 21.
The tournament was heartily reciprocated by the local youths with their overwhelming participation wherein a total of 32 teams from different parts of Ramban district participated in the competition. The tournament was played on a knockout basis.
The final match of the tournament was played between Spiker Punch Chamalwas and Spiker Punch Pogal wherein former emerged winner and secured the title trophy.
Shimpu Devi, wife of Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh, Nagandra Bhutyal, daughter of the Shaheed Lance Naik and along with other family members were chief guests of the event. They awarded medals and trophies among the finalists.
