JAMMU, Apr 24: Shabir Mir has brought laurels to J&K by receiving a Gold medal in Masters in Music (Vocal) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Shabir stood first in the University exam and was awarded by the UPSC Chairman Prof DP Agarwal.
Shabir is a disciple of the Music Legend Pandit Bhajan Sopori. He had his initial training from RK Raina and Prof DM Khan. He is also learning Tabla from the renowned Tabla maestro Ustad Rafiuddin Sabri.
