JAMMU, Mar 12: Three days National Judo Championship concluded at Gymnasium Indoor Hall, University of Jammu, here today.
28 States/teams from across the country participated in the Championship which was held for the first time in the State by Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association.
About 850 judokas, technical officials, office bearers of Judo Federation of India took part in the Championship in which 56 medals including gold, silver and bronze were at stake.
Former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah was the chief guest on the concluding function, who along with senior leaders of National Conference distributed the prizes among the winners on the occasion.
The chief guest also honoured the office bearers of Judo Federation of India, J&K Judo Association and technical officials of the championship by mementoes as a token of gratitude from the organizers.
The Championship was held under the overall supervision of Rachpal Singh, Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Kuldip Singh Jamwal and Vikas Gupta.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Manmohan Jaiswal, Aijaz Jan, TS Wazir, Arshid Choudhary, RC Thakur, Rajan Sharma and SS Gill.
