Inter Panchayat/Block Level Football competition

JAMMU, Jan 9: Semifinals position has been cleared as the Blocks of Marh, Bishnah, Domana and Akhnoor have sealed berth in the last four stage during the Inter Panchayat/Block Level Football competition, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
The competition is being organised under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports J&K, while the tournament is being supervised by the technical team of District Football Association, Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that the inclement weather conditions have forced the organisers to shift the venue to GGM Science College from Mini Stadium Parade.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
Earlier, in the first match played today, Block Domana defeated Block Suchetgarh by two goals to nil (2-0). Nitin Jamwal and Jayant Jamwal scored one goal each, Block Akhnoor got walkover against Block Dansal.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Zamir Thakur, President Jammu and Kashmir Football Association; Surinder Singh Bunty, Treasurer; Narinder Gupta, Chairman DFA Jammu and Yousuf Don, General Secretary DFA Jammu.
