RAMBAN, Oct 20: Administrative Secretary of Department of Tribal Affairs, Rehana Batul and Deputy Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan today flagged off a troop of students to Sanasar for a trekking expedition.
The six days trekking expedition camp is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Ramban in which 48 students from six different educational Zones of the district Ramban participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary said that such type of events would provide an opportunity to students to understand their ability, patience and weakness to improve their skills which would help them in their future.
While interacting with the participants, DC impressed upon them to avail this opportunity to shape their personality as a good sportsman as well as responsible citizen. He directed the DYSSO to provide adequate facilities to the participants.
Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib flagged off a group of 50 students of different schools for a trekking expedition, here today.
The trekkers will visit Sulla Park, Bidda, Said Baba and Bhimgarah Fort during the five days trekking camp, organised by DYSS, Reasi.
The DDC interacted with the young enthusiastic trekkers and advised them to enjoy their trekking expedition. She advised the students while trekking try to keep the environment neat and clean by not throwing polythene and other things which pollute the nature.
She said such activities play a pivotal role in channelizing the energy of the trekkers in the positive directions and also advised the students to keep themselves away from the drug menace and become messengers for creating awareness about the drug menace.
The DDC also distributed track suits among the trekkers. Assistant Director Legal Meteorology Department, Pushkar Raj; DYSSO, Subash Chander; trekking guides and other concerned officials of DYSS were also present during the event.
