JAMMU, Jan 24: Science Awareness Mela (Tech Parvartan), a mega event of National Council for Science & Technology, organized by Dewan Badrinath Vidya Mandir Amarvilla and Jammu and Kashmir Students Welfare Society Anantnag got underway at DBN Amarvilla, here today.
Science Exhibition, Painting Competition, Essay Writing Competition and Dramas based on Environment Sciences and Social Evils were part of the Mela. Workshop on Water Rocketry activities was also conducted on the occasion to develop Scientific temperament among the students.
The participating schools include GGHSS Canal Road, RRL School, SNS Vidya Mnadir, Shanti Swaroop Memorial School, DBN Mubarak Mandi and DBN Amarvilla.
School Principal and Coordinator of the event, Dr Baljeet Singh presented welcome address, while State Coordinator, Shabir Ahmed Shabir also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Sanjeev Goswami and Dr Neeraj Gupta from Department of Physics were the adjudicators of the event.
Earlier, the Mela was declared open with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and the Saraswati Vandana by the students.
