Satish helps RCC Srinagar to thrash KTCC by 67 runs

JAMMU, July 1: All-round performance by Satish Kumar, coupled with a good batting show by Ishan Gupta and Rahul Mussa and a fabulous bowling display by Kuldeep Kumar and Rohit Bhat helped Rainawari Cricket Club thrash Kaccha Talab Cricket Club by 67 runs to consolidate their position for the quarterfinal stage in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 tournament sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and being played at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club.
Winning the toss and batting first, RCC scored a good total of 167 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs as the number of overs was reduced because of overnight rains. Satish was the top scorer with 38 runs off 22 balls, studded with 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Ishan contributed 35 runs off 16 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes and Rahul Mussa scored 25 runs 10 balls, which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. Romy chipped in with 6-ball 18 runs. For KTCC, Mukesh, Tony and Sunil claimed one wicket each.
In reply, KTCC bundled out for a meagre total of 96 runs, thus lost the match by a margin of 67 runs. Amit and Ankush contributed 30 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For RCC Srinagar, skipper Kuldeep Kumar, Rohit Bhat and Satish Kumar shared 3 wickets each. Satish was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
In another match, Yankees Cricket Club defeated Star Eleven Cricket Club by a big margin of 84 runs.
Yankees CC opted to bat first and scored 166/6 in 20 overs. Manpreet Singh, Abhay and Kapil contributed 32, 29 and 23 runs to the total. Zulfi and Nasir took 2 wickets each for Star Eleven, while Sanju and Robin claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Star Eleven collapsed at 82 runs in 18.1 overs, thus lost the match by 84 runs. Vishal and Robin contributed 36 and 24 runs respectively. Jerry was the pick of the bowlers for Yankees Club, who took 4 important wickets by conceding just 9 runs in his 4 overs, while Romil claimed 3 wickets. Bharat and Kapil took one wicket each. Jerry of Yankees Club was declared man of the match for superb bowling display. The matches were officiated by Abhijyot Singh Bedi, Sandeep Manchanda and Sohail Yusuf.
