CSO XI wins in U-14 boys cricket series

JAMMU, July 1: Christian Sports Organization (CSO) XI won the first match of the Under-14 boys 3-match series, which got underway at Alexander Memorial High School, here today.
The series is being organized jointly by the Christian Sports Organization and J&K Police, under the overall supervision of Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy player and President of the Christian Sports Organization.
The first match was played between the Christian Sports Organization XI and NH Cricket Academy XI.
The Academy XI won the toss and batted first to score 84 runs in the allotted 15 overs. Nikhal scored 15 runs, Prince 10 and Ravi 9 runs. Ivon from CS XI took 3 wickets, Kallis took 2 wickets and Joel took 1 wicket for CSO XI.
In reply, CSO XI was given the target of 43 runs in 8 overs as the match was interrupted by bad light.
Main scorers for CSO XI were Ronit, Anslum, Kallis and Jullias, who contributed 15, 1, 8 and 7 runs respectively. Prince of NH CA XI took 3 wickets.
The match was officiated by Yuqab Pawan Mooman and Bharat.
Fr Kuriakose was the guest of honour on the occasion, who alongwith other guests was introduced with the budding cricketers.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Lal Gill, David Mattoo, Asif Gill, Sunny Khokher, Lazar Gill, Sony, Jyoti and Nitu Khokher.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Victor Sotra.
The second match of the series will be played at the same venue tomorrow.
