JAMMU, May 4: Gurdeep Saini, Sarpanch Panchayat Gandli of RS Pura and general secretary, All J&K Panchayat Conference presented a Cricket kit to Salaria Cricket Club (SCC) with an aim to boost their morale and promote sportsman spirit among the youth, here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Sarpanch said that sports apart from helping youth to be physically fit, also inculcates leadership qualities among them. He said Jammu has traversed a long way over the years with its youth making a big mark in every sphere of activity-art, sports, academics and culture.
“There is nothing to look back for our young achievers, as sky is the limit for their talent, which they have shown by putting in their best to the sport or activity they have chosen for themselves”, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the cricket kits were provided by the Department of Youth Services and Sports to Panchayat for distribution among the youth to promote sportsman spirit among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to involve youth in sports, the Sarpanch said the idea is “Kheloge toh Khiloge (Those who play, they shine)” to develop the overall personality of the youth. He asserted that the BJP Government at the Centre is fully committed to promote sports culture among the youth to make them healthy.
