JAMMU, June 3: Scripting twin wins today against KC Sports Club and Game Changer, formidable Samar Strikers sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing 2nd Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL), being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club Jammu at KCSC ground, here.
The league is being organized under the Chairmanship of MK Sinha, IGP Jammu.
Earlier, in the first match, Samar Strikers defeated KC Sports Club by 29 runs. Batting first, Samar Strikers scored 161 in 19.2 overs. Dipesh Balyan top scored with 67 runs, while Sumit Chitkara and Gursimran contributed 29 and 23 runs respectively. From KC Sports Club, Anmol Raina was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets, while Agastaya bagged 2 wickets. Musaif and Lakshya claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KC Sports Club managed to score 132 runs in 18 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 29 runs. Amanpreet top scored with 36 runs, while Musaif contributed 27 runs and Anmol chipped in with 11 runs.
From Samar Strikers, Prabjot took 4 wickets, Shavac bagged 3 wickets, while Dipesh claimed 1 wicket. Dipesh was declared as the man of the match.
He was awarded with Rs 2000 and a gift hamper from Ramada and Vivo.
In another match, Samar Strikers defeated The Game Changer by 55 runs. Batting first, Samar Strikers scored 172 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Dhivyam (39), Jhanveer Singh (34) and Sumit Chitkara (33) were the main scorers. From The Game Changer, Amar took 2 wickets, while Devvats and Manzir claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, The Game Changer made 117 runs to lose the match by 55 runs. Varun and Manzir scored 36 and 34 runs to the total respectively.
From Samar Strikers, Achintya took 4 wickets, while Sumit Chitkara bagged 2. Zaheer, Dipesh and Shavac claimed 1 wicket each. Ahintaya was declared as the man of the match and was awarded with Rs 2000 and a gift hamper from Ramada and Vivo.
