Salute to Indian Forces Open Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Apr 27: Talented opening batsman Abdul Samad slammed a power-packed century to held National Cricket Club (NCC) thrash Spartan Cricket Club by a huge margin of 124 runs in the ongoing Salut to Indian Forces Open Cricket Tournament, being organised by Laxmi Cricket Club in collaboration with Parade Sports Association at Parade ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, NCC rode on a magnificent knock of unbeaten 120 runs off 64 balls, studded with 15 fours and 5 sixes, scored a mammoth total of 228 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing jut one wicket in the process. Pranav Gupta also contributed valuable unbeaten 48 runs off 32 balls with 7 boundaries, while Vishwajeet Singh scored 28 off 22 balls with the help of 2 fours and one six. From Spartan Club, Imran was the only successful bowler, who tok the lone wicket to fall.
In reply, Spartan Club bundled out for a paltry total of 104 runs. Arshad and Imran were the only batsmen to cross double figure mark, scoring 14 and 13 runs respectively. From NCC, Pranav Gupta took 4 important wickets, while Tanmay bagged 2 wickets. Samad, Vishwajeet, Rakesh and Gokul claimed one wicket each. For his magnificent innings Abdul Samad was adjudged as the man of the match. The match was officiated by Ashok Singh, Jannu and Amarjeet Singh.
