Samad, Kundal guide Jammu Green to register emphatic 85 runs win over Jammu Blue

JAMMU, May 22: Magnifi-cent batting performance by Abdul Samad and Dikshant Kundal guide Jammu Green to register emphatic 85 runs win over Jammu Blue and seal berth in the next stage of the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Junior Cricket Premier League, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Club at GGM Science College hostel ground, here today.
Batting first, Jammu Green set a target of 327 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in allotted 40 overs. Abdul Samad played a magnificent inning of 148 runs, while Dikshant Kundal chipped in 98 runs. Aarav Mahajan and Anmol Bhan contributed 31 and 19 runs to the total.
For Jammu Blue side, Raghav scalped 3 wickets while Sampark took 1 wicket.
In the second inning, Jammu Blue failed to chase the target and bundled out at 242 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 40 overs. Musaif played a splendid inning of 102 runs, while Raghav Sharma made 54 runs and Aryan chipped in 28 runs and remained not out.
For Jammu Green side, Sachin and Praful Dhar scalped 2 wickets each, while Aditpal took 1 wicket.
Abdul Samad of Jammu Green was declared as Man of the Match and was awarded by Sudershan Mehta, Joint Secretary, JKCA Jammu, who was chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking, Mehta advised the organizers to organize 50 and 90 overs game for budding cricketers to hone their skill at grass root level.
The match was officiated by Rajender Singh and Sadik Hussain Malik as umpires.
